Beyond Books: Crafting Skills, Building Futures
Co-Curricular Activities
Co-Curricular Activities
At Jeeva Public School, we believe in the holistic development of our students, where co-curricular activities play a crucial role. These activities are carefully integrated into our curriculum to nurture creativity, build essential life skills, and instil a sense of responsibility in every child.

Art & Craft
Art & Craft is an integral part of our curriculum, especially in early childhood, as it significantly contributes to the development of life skills. Students are taught basic sketching and creative drawing, which helps in enhancing bilateral coordination, fine motor skills, self-regulation, and self-esteem. Art & Craft activities also provide an opportunity for students to bond, have fun, and express their creativity freely.
Life Skills
We offer a comprehensive Life Skills program to ensure that our students are well-equipped to face the challenges of modern life. Our Life Skills curriculum includes:
Yoga

A powerful practice for holistic development, Yoga helps in shaping the personality of children, enabling them to tackle everyday challenges with calm and confidence
Gymnastics

This all-encompassing exercise program promotes strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and discipline, making it an excellent lifestyle choice for young students.
Music

Music education fosters creative thinking, teamwork, and self-confidence, helping students develop a deep appreciation for the arts and enhancing their overall cognitive abilities.
Dance

Dance is not just for the interested few; it is for everyone. It supports the development of a growing child’s physical attributes and emotional expression, making it a vital part of our curriculum.
Martial Arts
Our Martial Arts program includes:
Tae-Kwon-Do

This martial art is more than just physical exercise. It teaches self-confidence, respect for oneself and others, and instils valuable life skills in children. Tae-Kwon-Do emphasises respect for elders, helping maintain a balanced and calm parent-child relationship as they grow.
Silambam

A traditional martial art of Tamil Nadu, Silambam is taught to our students not only for self-defence but also for its numerous health benefits. It offers a good cardio workout, improves memory and mental strength, relieves stress, and enhances hand-muscle coordination. Silambam also plays a role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, discouraging negative habits such as smoking or drinking.
House System
Our House System is designed to foster a sense of belonging, competitiveness, and team spirit among students. The school is divided into four houses—Cheras, Chozhas, Pandiyas, and Pallavas, named after the great ancient kingdoms of South India.
Each house has a captain and a vice-captain who are elected from the house members. Each house has a teacher in charge. The houses can win points or have them deducted. The best house is awarded with a rolling shield on the Annual Sports Day.
Club Activities
Our diverse club activities are designed to enhance students’ knowledge and co-curricular skills through hands-on, experiential learning. These clubs offer opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop new talents. Our clubs include:
Students engage in activities such as cooking without fire, environmental cleaning, tree planting, and crafting with recycled materials, fostering creativity and practical knowledge.
